Explain why and how you would, if given the opportunity, change a decision you made in the past. (Salisbury State)

As I know so far that facebook has been a problem with a student like me, and it will always be. There was a biggest mistake that I did in the past that related to facebook. If there is an opportunity, I would definitely stop using it in the past. By fixing that mistake I can focus on my study easily. Facebook is there around year 2009. When it became very popular, that was the time that I got involve with it. Since I involve in Facebook a lot, it becomes my one of the thing that I have to do every day. From updating status, writing comments on people wall, post my pictures. Sometimes stalking the people that I am interesting, but I can not talk to. While I am using Facebook, I can not focus on my study, and miss many events. One day, my friend came and told me that I should focus on my study. He also says “Every time I come I see you sit in front of that laptop’s screen and staring at the site “FACEBOOK”. At that time I just said “Well, what ever”. Now, I realize that I was wrong and he was right. I was an straight A star student, and now I am just a normal student. I was active and now I just a lazy guys who stays on Facebook over the weekend.  I thought over it, and came up with the idea that I have to stop using Facebook. But the temptation of Facebook is too much for a teenager like me. I could not stop it. Now, I could control the temptation of using Facebook, and I guess it is too late. If I can grant an opportunity to fix that mistake of using Facebook in the past, I think that my life will become a little bit better. Final comment on Facebook. “Facebook is drug and YOU WILL GET ADDICTED”.

About the path that you choose

113. Talk about how a person can change his direction.

In life, there are many different paths to choose. Each person has to decide a patch for his life. Left and right are two easy terms to use for a person when they have to decide where to go. An easy example for this is a story. This story has been using in many fairy tale stories. A person has to decide an easy path or a hard path, but every patch has a different ending. But the moral of this story is that when you choose the path that you like, you can always change the patch if it fits you. There is no rule or law that against this. This situation happens a lot in the battle. Either the soldier has to stay in the battle and die like a man, or he can run and lives a life of a coward. So the question is that, should a person back out when he thinks he can not do it anymore. The answer is yes because, if he keeps on trying and the result is still zero, thus he has to change the path. At least he has some experiences for the next try. For my belief, I think that if a person can change his direction depends on his situation. If he does have a lot of confident in himself, a new path will be easy for him. The patch will be hard as he is lacked of confident. As a student, if you do not try your best, you will never know what is going to happen.  If you get low grade, you give up. The path to become a good student is block. As that person has more confident and goes to ask the teacher for help. His grade will automatically go up. That is how a person can change his direction. 

A thought for your Earth

Question- Does human think that the Earth resource is unlimited?

            According to many scientists and economists, they have been telling us, human, that those resources that we use are limited. However, telling is different for us. Humans have been using the resources for a long amount of time. I do not think that by telling directly to people that “You are using too much Earth resource. Stop it!!” might work. There is a test which tells the people who use too much Earth Resource. Basically, there are two test results, one is that if a person have the result under the 2.0; he or she are using a right amount of the Earth resource. But when you across the point 2.0, that person will definitely not hurting the Earth resource, and also he is hurting people around him.  Come back to the topic that Human thinks Earth resource is unlimited. Maybe the life style of one person can not change the way he use the resource. A person has been using the fuel more than half of this life. Do you think that he will suddenly change from fuel into nuclear? The answer is no. Also maybe a person does not trust in the new technology.  From reading the newspaper, they see that when a nuclear station explodes many human lives are taking away. Do you think that he will trust the technology? Including the desire and the greed of a person make the resource of Earth reducing every single day. Just because a person thinks that he is rich he can buy more for himself. From those three points I can say that human does think that the Earth resource is unlimited. If we can get rid of those three types of people the Earth will be saved. For conclusion, I have some questions. If we finish the Earth resource, is war going to happen? Will people share their resource as they are asked? Are they willing to stop thinking for themselves and save the Earth?

Let me introduce myself, my name is Hung Manh Nguyen. Now, you know my name, but you do not really know where I am from, right? I am not going to waste your time to find out where I am from and my information. I am a Vietnamese and I am from Vietnam. My life is not as good as some people, but I am trying to keep up with the rush of the modern life style. What I meant is that I do not give up as everyone who does give up their life. For me, I do not have any talents or any special ability. Thus it makes my life is not going easy. I am just a normal kid from a normal family. I find out that my family was a Chinese family and we adapted to Vietnam. Hardships from life do not stop me from growing to extent my full potential of being a good kid. That is my many people in my family and including my friends like me. I have been a very good kid and I want to show that being a good kid is not hard. It is just depended on you to believe. My life is like a book which flipping into a new chapter. Also I do walk to a new chapter of my life when I had a decision to join Woodstock Community. Finally, I am there as a member of Woodstock Community. That is the place that totally changed me. I become more independent, more responsible for every action that I take. I was not a talkative kid when I first joined the Woodstock community. As time keeps going and my English skill becoming better; finally I could able to speak to the community that I am here to help the community become stronger and also myself. 

Advice for high school

If you were to look back on your high school years, what advice would you give to someone beginning their high school career? (Simmons)

I do not really know what advice I would give to the freshman in their high school career. My whole school year went very fast. I did not have time to listen to the advice of people. All I did was study hard. So then I think my advice for the freshman is study hard. Why the first advice I give is studying hard, because a freshman does need it a lot. As a freshman is doing well in his high school, he will easily find a good college or university when he gradates. Studying is not an only problem that the freshman is going through. Believe me there are tons and tons problem that a freshman has to deal everyday. Until he adapts to the new environment of the high school, he will see things slow down. Therefore, friends will solve the problem for them. Making friends in high school is very easy. Whenever you shout they are there for you, but are they really your best friend, or just “FRIEND”. Do not get mix up those two, because friends in high are different in elementary school. I do not think that the freshman can realize whenever they get stab from behind by his own friend. So choosing is another issue. Make the teacher favorite you is a good advice I can give. Talk to them, and be nice to them. By doing so, a freshman will see his grade go up so fast. There is a benefit to do something right. As a freshman follows my advice, he will see his high school career go very easy, fast. That is what I have done for my high school career. Trust me; it is not that hard if you do not follow these advices (just kidding). By the way, do not forget about the girls, they are the best.

103. Tell us about a person who influenced your life in a significant way. (Princeton)

Without my parents, I do not think that I would be able to make dream of my life comes true. The quality that they are taking care of me is the best. There is nothing that can compare to what I my parents did to me. I learned how to taking care of people from my parents. The way my parents took care of me impact my characteristic. Overall my parents are good, but the especially, my mom is the one that understand me a lot. Dad is just a person gave me advice, I can not listen to what my Dad says all the time, I have got to believe in myself and my ability. Except in the case that I am in the bad situation, and I can not decide for myself.  Mom has been taking care of me since I was born, and I know deeply that my life is value more than her life. She has been scarifying for me. Like buying all the best stuffs for me, working more than what she wants to pay the school fee for me. Before I got the characteristic of taking care of people, I was an arrogant, selfish and always did thing that only I got benefit. One day I realize that all the selfishness does not bring me joys, friends. I asked my Mom why, and she said: “My dear son, may be you should learn how to taking care of people. I believe by that way you will be able to find you a good friend, and the joys will come when you have friend. After listening to my and applying what she told me. The outcome was more than what I expected. My life changed since there.

Risks are unavoidable.

16. Describe a risk that you have taken and discuss its impact on your life. (Kalamazoo College/93)

            For some economists, they will say an advice that the consumer or the producer should take the risk; but for some economists, they say it does not matter what risks the consumer or the producer are taking. The reason is that everything is depended on their luck.

In this writing, I consider myself as a consumer, and I have been taking many risks in my miserable life. None of the risks that I had taken was a good choice, but I could not stop it, it is part of my life. I have to take the risks to move on.

            I have taken many risks in my miserable life. Most of them were not good, and the failing are just keep coming. In life, there are many choices that I have to make and the hard one came when I had to decide which school that I am going to. When I finish my 9^th in a Vietnamese school, my parent asked me if I want to go to study abroad. I was confused and kept thinking that should I go or not. I was constantly kept thinking about it. Should I stay in Vietnam and study there, or should I go to study abroad? I do not want to stay away from my family, friends, and my relatives. They all are my wall that I can lean on when the failing parts come to my life. Finally the decision occurred that I wanted to go to study abroad. My life changed since the day I made the decision. I took the risk and now I am different now. I have to become more responsible, study hard, and try everything with my best since I do not want to send back to Vietnam. In the beginning, I was regretting the risk that I took. Later I found out that the risk that I took was the turning point for my miserable life.

It does not matter what risks you took. I know two things from taking the risks are. One you will fail something by taking the risk, but the thing that you fail will be a new experience for you. Second, I will be success as you take it, because as if you do not take it, you might end up being regret about it. Risks will show up soon, later. Eventually, it can come across your decisions, you would be better prepare for it.
